Litle offers two authorization recycling solutions Recycling Engine and Recycling Advice. Both provide the following benefits:

Recycling Engine

Recycling Engine is a managed service that retries previously failed authorization attempts on behalf of the merchant. Built on analytics from Litle’s extensive transaction data set, Recycling Engine automatically runs a recycling schedule optimized for specific attributes of the transactions such as method of payment, response codes, and transaction amount.

As a fully managed service, Recycling Engine requires little to no IT investment. Merchants do not need to build software or implement processes to schedule and re-attempt declined orders. Litle does all of the work for you, while providing real-time insight into payment recycling performance via daily reports. Recycling Engine moves the payment recycling burden off of merchants’ plates completely, allowing you to implement optimized recycling methods with minimal investment.

Recycling Advice

Recycling Advice recommends when to recycle a failed authorization based on statistical analysis of past recycling attempts across our entire merchant portfolio. By analyzing various attributes of the transactions, such as the method of payment, response codes, and transaction amount, Recycling Advice determines the optimum intervals between attempts and recommends a specific time window for the next recycling attempt.

When Litle receives a decline to a merchant-initiated authorization request, Recycling Advice determines the optimum recycling pattern matching the attributes of the transaction. The optimal date and time for the next attempt is calculated and returned to the merchant as part of the authorization response message. It also tracks how the merchant is applying the advice and the overall effectiveness of the merchant’s recycling strategy.
